Advanced Wound Center

The Advanced Wound Center offers expert care for difficult wounds. Its team of physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other staff are specially trained in wound care evaluation and treatment, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy. We recognize that each patient’s wounds and circumstances are different. At the initial consultation, a team member evaluates the patient's wound and any factors that may be delaying the healing process.

Wounds that can be healed at the Advanced Wound Center include:

-  Pressure Ulcers
-  Venous Stasis Ulcers
-  Arterial Ulcers
-  Vasculitic Ulcers
-  Non-Healing Surgical Wounds
-  Complex Soft Tissue Wounds
-  Traumatic Wounds
-  Infected Wounds
-  Radiation-Induced Injuries
-  Burn Wounds

The team at the Advanced Wound Center strives to achieve wound healing within 16 weeks of beginning treatment. Depending upon each patient's needs, the Center has a variety of wound healing treatments, including:

-  Hyperbaric oxygen therapy where patients breathe 100 percent pressurized oxygen that
   promotes wound healing and improves the body’s ability to fight infection
-  Debridement, which is removing tissue that is hampering the healing process
-  Advanced skin substitutes to encourage wound closure
-  Nutritional counseling to help ensure a healthy diet, which is important to wound healing
-  Education for diabetic patients whose diabetes is hampering wound healing
