Johnson Professional Associates’ Miri Daly Achieves DNP degree

Johnson Professional Associates' Miri Daly recently achieved a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from UMASS. This is the highest academic degree for nurse practitioners. Dr. Daly is one of the few nurse practitioners in the state and nationwide to achieve this degree. "We are so proud of Miri's recent accomplishment," said David Morgan, President and CEO of Johnson Memorial Medical Center. "This is especially important because there are not many practitioners in the U.S. with this degree. Both our organization and the community are lucky to have a clinician of this caliber in our service area." The DNP degree focuses more on the clinical aspect of nursing rather than traditional academic research, and coursework includes application of clinical research, leadership roles and advanced practice methods. This level of academia prepares nurse practitioners to evaluate evidence-based practices for care and delivering care; developing health care policy; leading and managing clinical care and health care systems; and solving complex health crises. Dr. Daly has been practicing for 32 years, and she has been caring for women in the greater Enfield community for over 22 years.
