Johnson Memorial Medical Center (JMMC) recently appointed Ian S. Tucker, M.D., FAAFP, to Vice President of Medical Affairs. Dr. Tucker began his affiliation with JMMC in 2004 and has been a member of the Medical Staff since. He has served as Chairman of JMMC's Department of Family Medicine and Pediatrics for three years and one year as Vice President of the Medical Staff. In 2008, Dr. Tucker helped launch the Hospitalist Program at Johnson Memorial Hospital, and he most recently earned credentials to treat patients at the new Advanced Wound Center in Enfield. "Ian brings vast experience to this position," said David Morgan, President and CEO of JMMC. "Clinically, he maintains a private practice, works in our Advanced Wound Center one day a week, and adds staffing to our Hospitalist Service. He has also worked very closely with our leadership team - first as Vice President of the Medical Staff, then as a member of the Turnaround Committee, which guided JMMC throughout its successful realignment effort. Ian has shown commitment to the organization in many ways over the years, so appointing him to this position is a logical step. We are all excited to work with him in this capacity." Before completing his residency in family medicine at the Altoona Regional Health System in Pennsylvania, where he served as Chief Resident, Dr. Tucker earned his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and his medical degree at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has served as a physician in the United States Army Medical Corps and currently owns Somers Family Practice, LLC.
