Since its opening, Evergreen Health Care Center (EHCC) has enjoyed a reputation of excellence, providing exceptional nursing care and a place to call home for all of its residents.

EHCC is a 180-bed skilled nursing facility complete with a Long-term Care Unit, Short-term Unit for those in need of rehabilitation and recovery before returning home, and a Memory Support Unit for residents with Alzheimer's disease and similar forms of dementia. Each unit features its own dining and recreation area and is tastefully appointed with décor and furnishings that create a cheerful, homelike feel.

Long-term residents at EHCC benefit from 24-hour nursing care. An interdisciplinary team of staff members and physicians collaborate to meet each resident's unique needs. EHCC also provides a comprehensive span of services, including rehabilitation, hospice care, intravenous therapies, wound care, respite care and more. Because Evergreen is located on the same beautiful campus as Johnson Memorial Hospital, residents also have immediate access to the hospital's facilities and resources.

Short-term residents benefit from a full array of services. A cohesive interdisciplinary team strives to shape, coordinate and implement each step toward aggressive recovery, enabling patients to attain their highest level of independence and return to the comfort and security of their own homes.

Residents in the Memory Support Unit can continue to enjoy independence and freedom of movement thanks to the unit's safe, stimulating environment. The Memory Support Unit is staffed by experienced nurses and other professionals trained in the latest advances in Alzheimer's care. Many special features and services have been implemented as a means to maximize stimulation, promote recollection, and overcome the spatial/visual challenges characteristically experienced by dementia patients.
